Week 17 - A proper update? Surely not

Now I know there has been another set of fixtures since, but I’m a slave to the points providers. The games they are coming thick and fast right now with Boxing Day gone, and Saturday and Ne’er Day approaching fast. This time of year makes or breaks the Premiership sides and FFL managers.

LAST WEEKEND
A London derby that Tottenham should have won - sound familiar? Robbie Keane missed his penalty that would have surely won it for Spurs before Bendter appeared in the role of super sub. Liverpool gave Pompey a sound thrashing, with that cheeky scamp Torres at it again. What a player, quite honestly.

Derby also should have won, Newcastle coming back twice to steal an ill-deserved point and keep Allardyce in a job (for now). Villa and City fought out a 1-1 draw, proving there ain’t a lot between them and Chelsea sneaked it 1-0 at Blackburn - again not a lot between them save the killer touch. Man Utd also sneaked it (is it me of was there a lot of sneaking going on?), Ronaldo despatching a deserved penalty for the winner

THE POINTS
The usual hoarders Ronaldo and Fabregas were chalking them up again, with Torres and Viduka also picking up the booty.

THE TABLE
Same old story at the top with the top 2 making a further (if slight) break for it. Hotting up further down though, BabGs 11 and Real Sosobad slipping and sliding. Faithmonsoon Allstars also tumble and there to take advantage are sibling rivals Tullibody United who storm into the top 10. Previous seaosn high flyers Sarah’s Stars have advanced unnoticed into 10th and I spy Strikers Schmikers heading into 20th - the manager had asked earlier in the year to change his team name to In JC We Trust - not a religious man, merely a new testament to John Collins influence at Easter Road. We obviously forgot to do it, but are perfectly willing to change it to ‘In JC We Trust(ed)’

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Dead, absolutely dead if I didnt mention this but Billy Ocean’s Eleven hit the heights with 57. Please dont let the missus win MoM, I couldnt bear to make her tea in the coveted mug each night…..Also doing well this week were Ex-Ibrox Trophy Room Cleaners, Relegation Stars, Singtims, Saints Dream Team, Red Star Bellend and We Will Live Like Kings

Those Damn Cup Replays & Round 2

Eventually my eyes are opened and I can see th cup and troiphy replay results played way back on 8th December and they were:

CUP
Triple M’s Boys 17-14 Joey Jo Jo Junior Shabbadoo
Elmo’s Army 18-17 not another bunch of dobbers

TROPHY
Dude Where’s My Shoes 36-22 Ungabunga and the Oompa Loopahs
Ross County 26-20 Sheilaroos…….

So, with round 2 having been delayed we have quickly drawn all the hot and cold balls out of the bag, and scheduled round 2 for this weekend. Oh wont that be a nice surprise when you return to work on the 2nd/3rd/7th (delete as appropriate) and realise that either its a very happy new year or its reeaaaally peesh to be back at work. Best of luck anyway!

Week 15

Of course I got the previous week number wrong, but that was just to check that you were awake. We also promised that the Cup round 2 was coming but we haven’t yet sorted out those replays properly, so please bear with us for now. We will postpone round 2 until after Christmas now.

The league table looks as its in the bag for Shamu’s Killer Whales although with a long cold road ahead. Jane’s Buddies have made 2nd place their own, with Work Hard, Play Hard, BabG’s 11 Annihilators and Leyton Orient Expressway fighting it out for 3rd. Remember if you are in the last 16 as of March 17th or thereabouts then you’ll qualify for the super 16s, and this looks eminently doable for anyone down to 54th, within 50 points.

We would also like to wish all our managers a terrifically festive season, its all about the booze, a snooze and hoping your team doesnt lose (or draw). May Santa be generous to you all

Week 13 - Unlucky for many

Aye it was cup week, round 1 proper and I’ll cut to the chase and bid a fond farewell to 30 teams in each comp - it should have been 32 but for those pesky ties. Replays therefore in Week 14 in the Cup for:

Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabbadoo v The Triple M’s Boys
Not Another Bunch of Dobbers v Elmo’s Army

and in the trophy (nee plate)

The Sheilaroos v Ross County
Ungabunga and the Oompa Loompahs v Dude Where’s My Shoes
- both teams with a terrific yet inseparable 56.

MANAGER OF THE MONTH - NOVEMBER
A close run thing this month with Bracknell Town, Danny’s Boys and The Phoenix is Rising all edged out by less than 10 points. The winner of the lovely mug however is serial FFL trophy-bagger Jane’s Buddies.

Its on its way Jane, as is week 14 and for that matter Christmas…..
