If a fat lady has been singing then she’s been doing it for a good couple of weeks now and I’ve been doing my best to ignore her. Yes, 2 weeks since the season finished and only now is the update on. Hampered by holidays (alright for some) and some minor website downtime, we have struggled over the line with the last call on what has been another long yet hopefully enjoyable FFL campaign.
AND THE WINNER IS……
There hasn’t been too much doubt for a good number of weeks, but our champion, and well deserved one at that is the esteemed Chris Donohoe, the manager of Don Juan Donohoe. In the end it was a sizeable margin.
ALSO ON THE PODIUM
Much more competition here with second place eventually going to Kevin Bishop’s Brahms & Liszt - Kevin may end up a little Brahms & Liszt with the prize money. In 3rd after another good season were the first half winners, Jane’s Buddies who held on despite a late charge from Sexism Has No Place In Football.
EVERYONE ELSE
Mixed fortunes like every league but if you finished in the top 50 then you did pretty well
THE CUP
Winners were of course Oh For An Aston Martin - congratulations to Marcus Martin
THE PLATE
Congratulations to Jack Mulcahy, manager of We Are Part of Jack’s Army - clearly transfers not required to pick up the silverware.
THE MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Nearly, but not quite for the FFL Webmaster, but Earth Wind & Dire finish behind Ross County in the May stakes, so its a big hand for Ross County. A backlog in MoM prizes has developed with Ian Hendry and Alistair Dow to receive theirs.
WHATS NEXT?
The prize money of course, cheques to be distributed in coming week and trophies have been ordered.
Check out the full roll of honour for this season!
AND FINALLY…..
Thanks to you all, at times the service has been as slow as a Mido sprint and as about as accurate as a Heskey shot, but hopefully you enjoyed it more than the FA Cup Final. We’ll be back next season fully rested from a full summer off and full of the joys of life as ever. Thanks for playing….
